Pools & Beach
Discover a host of aquatic adventures in our incredible pools, or bask on one of Hawaiʻi’s best beaches, just steps from our resort. Plan the perfect family day out at our epic Wailea Canyon Activity Pool, take a serene dip in our adults-only Hibiscus Pool, or relax on the warm sands of picture-perfect Wailea Beach.
Hibiscus Pool
Relax at our adults-only 4,850-square-foot Hibiscus Pool, named for our state flower which is represented by a giant hibiscus flower made from over 630,000 pieces of Mexican glass mosaic tiles inlaid at the bottom of the pool. The entire pool contains over 2.2 million individual tiles and features two Jacuzzis, private luxury cabanas, and poolside casabellas. This pool is reserved for guests 18 and older.
Wailea Canyon Activity Pool
Spend the day in this epic 2,000-foot-long, 25,700-square-foot, 770,000-gallon pool area that consists of nine individual pools oversix different levels.Fit for the whole family, this pool features seven waterslides, six waterfalls, a lazy river, caves, a Tarzan rope swing, three Jacuzzis, a sand “baby” beach, a swim-up bar, and more.
Outdoor Lava Tube Slide
Prepare to be exhilarated with a 3-story drop slide splashing into our Wailea Canyon Activity Pool.

Wailea Beach
Just steps away from our property is Wailea Beach, rated one of the best beaches on Maui and one of the top beaches in the world. Spend your days relaxing in the Hawaiʻi sun with beautiful views of Pacific Ocean. And in the evenings, enjoy breathtaking Maui sunsets.
Cabanas
Whether you're looking to relax by the pool or enjoy a serene beachfront experience, indulge in the privacy of our luxurious cabana or casabella options. Reservations are required in advance, either at booking or during your stay and available to our Grand Wailea guests and Kūlana Members at both our Hibiscus and Activity Pools.

Water Experiences
Discover Snorkel and Scuba Program
Learn the basics of snorkeling and scuba diving in this introductory course with our on-property partners at Dive Wailea, included as an amenity in your resort fee. During this demonstration, you will learn in the classroom as well as in our 10-foot deep dive pool and only resort-designated scuba training pool in Hawaiʻi. Participants must be 8 years or older. Dive Wailea’s professional instructors can also escort you on one of four ocean dives tailored to novice or certified divers.
Stand-Up Paddleboarding
Embark from Wailea Beach on an unforgettable journey across the tranquil waters of Wailea on a stand-up paddleboard, available to rent from our on-resort partner Aqualani.
Outrigger Tours
Grand Wailea celebrates one of the most revered Hawaiian traditions with our outrigger program with Maui Pacific Tours. Join us for an authentic Maui experience aboard a traditional outrigger canoe on a guided paddling journey down the golden coast of Wailea—Hawaiian for the “waters of Lea”, the goddess of canoe builders. With each dip of your paddle into these storied waters, take an unforgettable journey to rediscover yourself and the magic, beauty, and wonder of Wailea.
Whale Watching
Every year, humpback whales return to the warm Maui waters in December and continue through May. See the whales in action via boat tour or simply from Wailea Beach. Tours depart from Mā‘alaea Harbor (appx. 25-minute drive from our resort) and are generally two hours long. Tours are offered throughout the day, but mornings generally offer better ocean conditions.

Or start your morning off right with one of our complimentary outdoor yoga classes on or experience a trainer-led group cycle class in our new Kilolani Spa Movement Studio. Outdoor Yoga
Welcome the beautiful Maui morning with an energizing hour-long beginner yoga session on Wailea Beach or Chapel Lawn. Classes take place daily. Reservations are required.
Group Cycling
Experience trainer-led Technogym Group Cycle classes taking place in Kilolani Spa's all-new Movement Studio. Registration is required.

Cultural Experiences

Cultural Activities

Greet the rising sun with a rousing e ala e chant on the sands of Wailea Beach and feel the mana (energy) of Maui flow through your body.
Cultural Tour
Take a tour of our resort with our in-house Hawaiian Cultural Ambassador and see how the history, culture, medicine, and traditions of Hawaiʻi are intertwined in every part of our resort.
Garden Tour
Tour our grounds and gardens with our head of landscaping and discover the bounty of our tropical plants and species throughout our 40-acre property. Sample some of the fruit right off the trees and experience our “resort farm-to-table” philosophy in action.
Grand Passport
Keiki (children) can learn while they play at Grand Wailea. At check-in, keiki can receive a Grand Passport, which maps and lists out all educational activities to visit around the property. After each activity, a sticker “stamp” on their passport will indicate they have successfully completed the ‘lesson’ and additional activities will be available after departure, including printouts for coloring.
Grand Lūʻau
Immerse yourself in authentic Hawaiian culture with our spectacular lūʻau featuring traditional ceremonies, music, and dishes such as poi, kālua pig, poke, and haupia.
Hala Weaving
Weave a keepsake from the leaf of the Pandanus Tree.
Hū Kukui
Hū is an ancient Hawaiian game made from the kukui nut (Candlenut tree). Come and make your very own kukui spinning top.
Hula Lessons
Tap into the ancient rhythm of our island home as you learn about Maui’s history and traditions through the basic steps of hula.
Kukui Nut Bracelet
Make a bracelet from the kukui nut of the Hawaiʻi state tree (Candlenut tree).
Lauhala Bracelet Weaving
Though many parts of the Pandanus tree are utilized, the most common in Hawaiʻi are the leaves. We invite you to a basic introduction of weaving a bracelet.
Papa ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi
We will share words, pronunciation, and history about the language through fun and interactive activities.
Pipipi Bracelet
Let us introduce you to one of the most commonly seen tiny black snail shells on the rocky shoreline of Wailea Beach. Come learn about this interesting shell as you craft yourself a keepsake bracelet.

Island Adventures
Whatever your taste for adventure, our Concierge team has the local knowledge and connections to help perfect your itinerary for exploring the island, including mountain bike descents down the slopes of Haleakalā, scenic golf outings, horseback rides across Upcountry Maui’s rolling hills, ziplining through valleys and over waterfalls, and more.
Wailea Golf
Enjoy abundant sunshine and spectacular vistas from every hole nearby at Wailea Golf Club, which boasts three award-winning courses that are ideal for a range of skill levels.
Snorkel & Kayak Tours
A snorkel and kayak adventure for everyone. Enjoy Maui’s scenic coastline from the sea! Tours feature beautiful gardens of live coral and coves that house exotic tropical fish and endangered Green Sea Turtles.
The two-hour tour is led by an Eco-guide who adds insight into Maui’s hidden world beneath the sea. Snorkel gear, life jackets, drinks, and snacks are included. Single or double kayaks are available.
Hele Wai Eco Reserve Tour
Explore Maui’s native forest and the private conservation lands of Puʻu Kukui Watershed Preserve through the eyes of a local guide during this two-mile hike, and discover a side of Hawaiʻi you’ve never seen before. This personalized tour gives you the unique chance to gain deeper insight into Maui’s native landscapes, local flora and fauna, and water conservation efforts—all while enjoying the island’s vivid natural beauty and stunning vistas.
Hiking Tours
Choose between a 3-hour, half-day, or full-day rainforest and waterfall hike along remote trails; some only accessible by the hike companies. Hike tours also explore Haleakalā Crater with its rare Nēnē (Hawaiian goose) and Silversword plant. Transportation is available for some tours at an additional cost.
Land Activities
Explore the rolling terrain of Upcountry Maui on horseback, hike to hidden waterfalls on foot, or race up hills and across rivers on an ATV off-road adventure.
Road to Hāna
Journey through history and experience some of Maui’s most spectacular vistas during this iconic coastal road trip, which takes you from the quaint plantation town of Pāʻia all the way to the Seven Sacred Pools of ‘Ohe‘o.
